Queen's Park vs Albion Rovers - Preview

Last updated : 03 November 2006 By Andyboy
The Spiders fresh on the back of success at Arbroath and victories at home to Elgin and Berwick in the past three weeks, go into the clash against our "derby" rivals highly confident.

Rovers recent form has baffled most supporters, but they have finally managed to find some constintency in their results. Last weekend saw Jim Chapman's side knock 3 past Montrose in a 3-1 win with the previous week's match a 2-2 draw away at leaders East Fife.

Queen's victory pushed us into 3rd place in the league on 20 points, joint with 2nd placed Dumbarton and 9 behind The Fifers. Rovers sit in eighth ahead only of East Stirlingshire and Elgin and 2 points behind 7th placed Montrose.

In the one meeting between the sides this season, a Spiders side who had just knocked Aberdeen out of the CIS Cup were held to a 1-1 draw at Cliftonhill, Joe Savage's late goal nicking a point for Rovers.
