Dunlop Latest To Leave Hampden

Dunlop signed for Queen's Park in September 2005, and made his debut that month in a 3-0 victory over East Stirlingshire at Hampden. Dunlop quickly made the left back position his own and established himself as a hero to the Hampden faithful, with his 100% committed performances and love for a good old bone crunching tackle.

Mick netted his first goal in a 3-1 win over The Shire at Hampden in January and went on to become a key player in the August 2006 victory over Aberdeen at Firhill. Dunlop cemented himself as the key man in a make shift defence, filling in at centre half, and scored a great header to set us on our way against East Fife back at Firhill, in May 2007, as we won 4-2 in the Playoff Final first leg.

Dunlop was again key this season and stayed in the team until he done in ligaments in Feburary 2008. He made his last appearance in the Hoops, as we lost 3-2 away at Ross County.

Dunlop makes his move to Dumbarton with some questioning his ambition, but I can only wish the big man the best of luck at Strathclyde Homes Stadium, he was a joy to watch in the black and white hoops.
