44 year old Spiers, has previously managed at Clyde and Ross County and was also Assistant to Ebbe Skodvahl at Aberdeen and Ian McCall at Partick Thistle, where he had been working up until his unveiling as Queen's Park manager.
Queen's President Garry Templeman said to the Official Site "Gardner was the first name on our short-list and we are very grateful to Allan Cowan and Ian McCall at Partick Thistle for allowing the approach. As a UEFA-qualified coach, he is the ideal candidate to continue player and club development at Queen's Park."
Caretakers Dave McCallum and Bobby Dickson will remain in control for tomorrow's trip to Ayr United, before Spiers takes control at Hampden from Monday onwards.
