Queens' travelled to Gretna on the back of three defeats while the Black & Whites had been scoring goals for fun , but the Spiders defeated Gretna 3-2 at Hampden in August there only defeat so far this season also we have never been defeated at Raydale Park.
It took only three minutes for Davie Crawford to make a save from a high , looping Kenny Deuchar strike. A minute later Brian Blair missed a chance which he put straight at Mathieson.
15 minutes gone and Deuchar should have opened it. His volley hit the side netting while the Homes Support thought they had scored.
The opener did come after 23 minutes. Deuchar knocked the ball down after shoving Sinclair but ref Downie let it go and Ryan McGuffie opened the scoring. This was to be the 10 minutes that ended the game.
After Mark Ferry nearly equalised if his shot had been inches lower a ball headed to the 18 yard line. Where Kenny Deuchar won the ball from an onrushing Crawford and slotted the ball home past Rushford & Molloy.
Only a minute after Brian Blair failed to convert from six yards a third came. A quick throw on the left was swung in by Gillfillan and Gavin Skelton beat DC.
Thank god half-time came soon or we could have lost a lot more in that first half with Deuchar & Bingham all over our defense like a bad rash!!!
Queen's started brightly in the Second half but the first real chance happened on the 50th Minute. Brian Blair put a cross in from the right but Irons put the ball out for a corner.
A couple of minutes later Shaun Molloy was booked for a challenge on Ryan McGuffie.
On the 60th Minute the first change for Queen's was made. Martin Bonnar replaced Brian Blair.
On the 61st Minute we won a penalty. With the ball going out for a Goal Kick a few yards from the ball. Frankie Carroll seemed to trip up over Aitken but he won the penalty. Up stepped Ross Clark who steered the ball past Mathieson.
It was a midfield game until the 82nd Minute. Ally Graham fired the ball over the roof from six yards after out-foxing Irons.
With five minutes left Gretna's two subs linked up for a fourth. Townsley unleashed Wake who fired it by Crawford.
