Queens Park 1-0 Clyde- Match Report

Watt has the answer for Queens Park

Ian Watt scored the decisive goal as Queens Park earned a 1-0 victory against Clyde at Hampden Park.

The hosts had won all of the last seven previous meetings between the two sides, and went ahead after 27 minutes when Watt found the top corner with a stunning 30-yard effort.

Anthony Quinn almost doubled the Spiders' lead three minutes from half-time, but his close-range volley drew a point-blank save from Clyde goalkeeper Jamie Barclay.

Paul Hay had the chance to draw the visitors level four minutes after the interval but he was unable to keep his effort from the edge of the area on target.

The Bully Wee had won back-to-back games coming into the fixture, and were unlucky not to equalise in the 78th minute when Stefan McCluskey's volley flew past the post.

Gardner Speirs' side were able to hold on to their lead, and almost extended their victory margin two minutes from time when Stuart McColm let fly with a speculative effort.
