Queen's continued their pre-season with a narrow defeat to Premier League side Motherwell at the West Of Scotland Science Park in Maryhill.
There was only two changes to the side that fell to Queen Of The South in midweek, Damiano Agostini replacing Jonny Whelan & Bryan Felvus replacing Paul Paton.
It took only two minutes for 'Well to create a clear cut chance. Stephen Craigan heading onto the bar in the second minute. Nine minutes later they took the lead with a debateable penalty which Richie Foran placed past David Crawford.
But, QP equalised a minute later. A free kick was delivered into the six yard box and was headed away by a 'Well defender, but, only as far as Mark Ferry on the edge of the 18-yard box and he sent a stunning volley past veteran 'Well 'keeper Gordon Marshall.
On the half hour mark Motherwell restored their one goal advantage. Scott McDonald beat Damiano Agostini and fired home from a difficult angle into DC's far post.
Queen's created a good chance on 37 minutes, but Bryan Felvus' cheeky lob was caught by a backtracking Marshall who was caught out seconds earlier by Steven Reilly.
Just before half time Bryan Felvus had a shot tipped wide by the impressive Marshall in the 'Well goal.
The second half was largely non-eventful but Queen's did force a few corners and make a handful of chances. Paul Paton came the closest from 25 yards.
Next up is another challenging game versus St.Mirren on the 14th.
